Happy customers are loyal customers, so Honda decided to increase their customers’ happiness with the Honda Summer Cheerance Event, a five-day long event that spread a never-ending amount of smile-inducing videos, memes, GIFs, and jokes via social media. The event, which took place from Monday, August 4 to Friday, August 8, was used as a media campaign for Honda’s Summer Clearance Sales Event.
Along with spreading the cheer online, Honda also created smiles by donating $100,000 to the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation. Joining the event was Andrew Hales, a YouTube superstar, who created two videos on his popular LAHWF YouTube Channel, and Pandora, which featured a Summer Cheerance station full of happy songs.
“This collection of silly and wonderful morsels of cheer across social media, and in real life, are designed to make an impact, create smile-filled buzz, and remind people that summer is the best time to get a great deal on a Honda,” said Susie Rossick, senior manager at American Honda Motor Co., Inc.
