Here at Basney Honda we realize that having a college degree is quickly becoming a necessity in the work world, even though tuition prices are rising at astonishing rates, making it difficult to afford. That’s why we are proud to announce that Honda has decided to extend a helping hand to a number of Hispanic undergraduate students by partnering with the Hispanic Scholarship Fund.
Each of the 16 Latino undergraduate students that Honda is helping will receive $5,000 to help them achieve their goal to complete a higher education degree. The 16 students come from around the country and demonstrate academic excellence, interest in science and engineering, and knowledge of the automotive industry. To be considered for the scholarship, each student needed to major in either business administration, chemical, electrical, industrial, or mechanical engineering, while also maintaining a 3.0 GPA.
“Honda is proud to have partnered with the Hispanic Scholarship Fund and to provide help to the next generation of engineers,” said Marc Burt, Assistant Vice President of the Office of Inclusion & Diversity. “Honda is always looking ahead to the future of innovation, and we are excited to do something for those young minds that are going to lead us into that future.”
To celebrate these awards, the Hispanic Scholarship Fund and Honda held a Scholar Awards Breakfast in Columbus, Ohio. For a list of the winners, click here.
