With car brands across the globe racing to be the go-to brand for those looking to go green, it’s important for brands to be recognized for their green technology—especially if the recognition comes from Kelley Blue Book. Honda recently took a giant leap forward in the green car race after the Accord Hybrid and Civic Natural Gas were named to KBB.com’s 10 Best Green Cars list, helping the brand establish itself as eco-friendly.
“For customers looking to purchase vehicles that have low CO2 emissions, Honda has two great options on KBB.com’s list—the fun-to-drive, fuel efficient Accord Hybrid and the Civic Natural Gas powered without a drop of gasoline,” said Steven Center, vice president of the Environmental Business Development Office at American Honda Co., Inc. “This recognition from Kelley Blue Book validates the efforts of Honda engineers who for decades have continued to work towards our goal to leave ‘Blue Skies for our Children.’”
While both of these vehicles excelled in KBB.com testing, they offer consumers with two completely different options. The Accord Hybrid’s performance is what first caught the eyes of the editors’ at KBB.com, along with its amazing fuel efficiency, which are rated at 50 mpg city. The hybrid sedan has a two-motor hybrid system, blending electric-only, hybrid, and engine drive modes. For the Civic Natural Gas, editors were impressed with its use of clean-burning fuel, which saves up to 40% in estimated fuel costs compared to gasoline powered cars with an EPA-estimated 31 mpg combined.
With this type of fuel efficiency, it’s easy to see why the Accord Hybrid and Civic Natural Gas were included in KBB.com’s 10 Best Green Cars list. Make sure you stop by Basney Honda to check out the other fuel efficient cars Honda has to offer!
