Basics for Vehicle Maintenance

When it comes to your car, you’ll always want it to be in tip-top shape. So that’s why you have to keep up with regular vehicle maintenance. Here are some basics in taking care of your car.

Always Check Your Tires

Your tires are one of the most important parts of your car. They’re what keep you rolling (literally). Be sure that your tires always have the right pressure to avoid blowouts or flats.

Monitor Oil Levels

Oil is what makes your engine running smoothly. Without it, your car will be harder to drive and your parts will experience more wear and tear. Make sure to change your oil every 3,000 to 3,500 miles and make sure the levels are high enough every week.

Listen to Your Brakes

Your brakes need to be replaced occasionally, so be sure to listen to how they sound. If you hear squeaking or grinding when you brake, this is a sign that a brake part needs to be replaced.

Fill Your Fluids

Always make sure your essential fluids are full. This includes your steering fluid, washer fluids, brake fluid, and others. You can find all of these under the hood.

And as always, you can ask Basney Honda’s service department service recommendations.
