As the popularity of the subcompact segment continues to grow, so does every carmaker’s determination to present a subcompact car that truly turns heads. For Honda, that is the 2015 Honda Fit. Along with being cute as a bug, the Fit can also brag about being safe after being named a 2014 Top Safety Pick by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS).
“Honda’s deep-rooted commitment to safety and to our customers is perhaps best demonstrated by the fact that we were not satisfied with anything but a Top Safety Pick for the new 2015 Honda Fit,” said Art St. Cyr, vice president of auto operations at American Honda. “Vehicle by vehicle, our engineers are passionate about developing safety technologies that consumers have come to trust and expect from Honda.”
The versatile hatchback earned this top safety rating by performing well in IIHS crash testing, receiving the highest rating of “Good” in four specific tests and an “Acceptable” score in the IIHS’ most stringent test of all—the small overlap frontal crash test. The Fit is the only vehicle in its class to receive such a high rating in that particular test. Originally, an early-production 2015 Fit received only a “marginal” on the small overlap frontal test, but Honda made safety a priority and modified the Fit’s front bumper structure.
If you are looking to join millions of other consumers in buying a vehicle from the subcompact segment, there’s no better choice than the 2015 Honda Fit. Make sure you stop in to Basney Honda today and give this sporty car a test drive!
