America’s best-selling SUV, the Honda CR-V, has earned a 2015 Top Safety Pick+ rating from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS).
The vehicle aced all of the IIHS’s five crashworthiness evaluations, including the difficult small overlap frontal crash test. Though that’s good enough to get the Top Safety Pick designation, it also earned a superior rating in available front crash prevention to get that extra +, thanks to the Honda Sensing suite of advanced safety and drive-assistive technologies.
The suite helps Honda CR-V drivers become more aware of their surroundings with technologies like Forward Collision Warning, Lane Keeping Assist System, Lane Departure Warning, and Collision Mitigation Braking System.
“Honda’s vision to one day eliminate traffic-related collisions, injuries and fatalities is at the heart of our commitment to safety,” said Art St. Cyr, vice president of auto operations at American Honda. “Our continued innovation in active safety and assistive technologies with the application of Honda Sensing brings Honda, our customers and everyone else on the road one step closer to this goal.”
