Last Thursday, Honda hit a major milestone – they made 10 millionth Honda Accords in the United States.
The 10 millionth Honda Accord was made at the Honda plant in Marysville, Ohio. When this plant opened in 1982 as it was considered to be a risky venture. It was only the second foreign-owned car manufacturing plant in the United States. Many seriously doubted that Honda would be able to make cars in the United States as well as they were made in Japan. These skeptics are being proven wrong in a big way with the success of the Marysville Plant.
The Honda Accord made last Thursday was also the 20 millionth vehicle Honda has made in the United States. In fact, over 90% of the Honda vehicles sold in the United States last year were made in North America. Currently, the U.S. manufacturing plants make the Civic, Accord, Crosstour, CR-V, the Pilot, Odyssey, and the Ridgeline.
